Prime Minister Stuart Young, who was recently handed the reins of power by his predecessor, Dr Keith Rowley, advised President Christine Kangaloo to dissolve Parliament with effect from midnight, Tuesday March 18.
Nomination Day is Friday, April 4.
The incumbent People's National Movement and the opposition United National Congress are the two main political parties in the twin-island republic.
