A coalition of 22 attorneys general has celebrated winning a court order temporarily blocking United States President Donald J. Trump from withholding trillions of dollars in funding that every state in the country relies on to provide essential services to the American population, including Caribbean immigrants.
On Friday, Judge John J. McConnell of the US District Court for the District of Rhode Island granted a temporary restraining order blocking Trump's illegal funding freeze of many federal agency grants, loans, and other financial assistance programs.
New York Attorney General Letitia James and the coalition had filed the lawsuit to stop the policy.
