Batting collapse leaves Windies on the ropes against Pakistan

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Renardo Brown

A record 19 wickets fell on day two of the first test between the West Indies and hosts Pakistan in Multan on Saturday, as the Caribbean men find themselves trailing after another poor batting display.

Kamran Ghulam 9 and first innings top scorer Saud Shakeel 2 will resume batting for Pakistan on day three with the score 109-3, a lead of 202 runs. It was an awful day for the West Indies batters, as the visitors were bowled out in less than a session.

Following a disappointing batting display, the Windies made just 137 runs in reply to Pakistan's first innings score of 230.

The visitors had little answer to the spin pair of Noman Ali and Sajid Khan who accounted for 9 of the 10 wickets. Day three bowls off at 11:30 pm on Saturday, Jamaica time.
