CONCACAF team Canada are into the semi-finals of the Copa America tournament following a 4-3 penalty shootout win over Venezuela after a 1-1 regulation time scoreline in Alrington, Texas.
The Canadians hit the front after 13 minutes through Jacob Shaffenburg, but that was cancelled out in the 64th minute by Solomon Rondon.
The Canadians held their nerve from the penalty spot, converting four of their six kicks, while Venezuela fluffed their lines with three of their six kicks.
Canada who are making their first Copa America appearance, earned a semi-final spot against the world number 1 and defending champions Argentina on Tuesday night at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey.
