Coaches voice concerns over rule change at high schools swim meet

Coaches have expressed their dissatisfaction with the change made to a key competition rule for the ISSA High Schools Swim Meet which took place earlier on Friday at the National Aquatic Centre. The rule change has seen the number of entries per event for schools being reduced.

However, Joseph Reynolds, head of ISSA’s swim committee and ASAJ council member says the rule change was necessary.

The coaches contend they were only made aware of the rule change in the week of the competition following months of preparation.

But, Reynolds says he’s surprised by the push back from the coaches. The meet serves as preparation for the ASAJ High Schools/Tertiary Institutions Championships in March.
