Commandant dismisses opposition to land Caymanas Park feature

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Spencer Darlington

Mouttet Mile third place finisher Commandant easily dismissed the opposition to land Saturday's Alexander Hamilton Memorial Trophy race for Open Allowance runners over 7 furlongs at Caymanas Park.

The Rohan Chrichton-trained American-bred 5 year old bay horse who went off as the 3-5 favourite, was ridden to the convincing victory by champion jockey Raddesh "Sneaky Fox" Roman.

He covered the distance in an excellent 1 minute, 24.2 seconds, winning by 5 lengths. Veteran jockey Oneil Mullings had a double on the 10 race card.  Racing continues next Saturday.
