On Saturday, October 5, The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will arrive in Jamaica at Norman Manley International Airport. There will be a small welcoming party including Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller.
Jamaica will be the first nation on the Caribbean leg of the 2013 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour. Wisynco, Coca-Cola's Jamaica distributor, will then host the trophy at its headquarters before it is presented at a Cocktail Reception Saturday Evening.
An official unveiling of the trophy will be held later on, with a "transient" evening planned, inclusive of entertainment from David Correy, the voice of the Coca-Cola World Cup 2014 anthem The World is Ours.
The evening will end with a "first look" experience as the trophy will be unveiled for the first time with those on hand who have made signifiant contributions to Jamaica's football development over the years.
Several thousand Jamaicans will have the opportunity to see the genuine FIFA World Cup Trophy at the Tour on Sunday, October 6 at the National Indoor Arena. The Trophy Tour will feature symbols of the vibrant Brazillian culture with music and dance. Ticket holders will be treated to games such as Football Tennis, videos including Jamaica's first ever hologram theatre, featuring a 15 minute presentation about the FIFA World Cup.
The "Wall of Happiness" inside the tour allows all fana who attend, to sketch their names or a graphic on the 100ft long wall. Jamaican from all walks of life will be immortalized by leaving their mark, affirming that they were present for the historic occasion. The wall will later be divided into sections and framed, to be donated to schools, government offices and charitable organizations.
Fans attending the Trophy Tour will get an up-close view of the trophy, and a snapshot keepsake with the trophy.
