Andrew Wright, the former Financial Controller at Insports, is among three men convicted in the $222 million fraud case at the government run sports agency. However, Wright and at least one of the other convicted men, will appeal the ruling.
On Tuesday, Wright was found guilty on 13 counts, while his former colleagues, Oniel Hope and Rudolph Barnes were convicted on 8 and 11 counts respectively in the high-profile case, which has been before the courts for just over a year. However, Hope was acquitted on four charges. The investigations into the multi-million dollar fraud allegations date back to 2017.
