Former national youth netballer returns to resume career

The Sunshine girls will get more height in the shooting circle as they welcome the return of former national youth player Marvadene Anderson who will be joining up with the squad.

If it was hard stopping Sunshine Girls Jhaniele Fowler-Reid and Romelda Aiken, then the work of international netball defenders just got harder as they will have to deal with a  third shooter in the six foot, 11 and a half inch-tall Anderson.

The 23 year old left Jamaica seven years ago to take up a basketball scholarship in the United States, but she is back to where it all started.

Anderson missed out on joining the Women's Basketball League as injury forced her to miss her final season in school. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in May with a degree in Media and Communications.

Meanwhile, Netball Jamaica President, Dr Paula Daley-Morris, there wasn't any major influence in getting Anderson to return.

The Sunshine Girls will play away to New Zealand in September, Australia in November and the World Fastnet in October which could be suited to Anderson's style.
