Fraser-Pryce to be honoured at Athlos NYC meet

Jamaica's recently-retired sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will be honoured by the Athlos NYC 2025 track meet on Friday.

Fraser-Pryce and Athlos founder Alexis Ohanian appeared on CBS Mornings on Thursday where he revealed that  his wife, American tennis great Serena Williams would  be present for the crowning moment. Fraser-Pryce officially retired from competitive athletics on Tuesday, making the announcement via social media. 

Meanwhile, the second staging of the highly-anticipated women's only Athlos meet set for the Icahn, will feature some of the world's best female athletes competing for a chance to win the grand prize of $60,000 and a world record bonus of $250,000.

National sprint hurdles record holder Ackera Nugent, recent world sprint relay silver medallist Jonielle Smith and national 800 metre record holder Natoya Goule are the Jamaicans slated to compete at the meet.
