Holy Trinity create Manning Cup history

Holy Trinity High School created history on Thursday by advancing to the semi-finals of the ISSA Flow Manning Cup for the first time in the school's 63 year history.

Holy Trinity topped Group ‘H’ of the quarter-final round after a 3-1 victory over Excelsior at the Constant Spring Field.

Holy Trinity who got their goals from Fabrizzo Burton, Kareem Brown and an own goal, will face defending champions Jamaica College in one semi-final.

Wolmer's Boys also progressed to the semi-final round of the competition with a 1-0 victory over Haile Selassie also at Constant Spring.

Mario Sailsman got the all-important goal for the Heroes Circle-based boys, who will face Kingston College in one semi final, the third meeting between the two teams this season.

Over at the Spanish Town Prison Oval, Jonathan Grant who would've made consecutive semi-finals had they won, went down 3-1 to Camperdown. Jamoi Topey, Shacquile Smith and an own goal gave Camperdown the victory.

And though St George’s College completed their 2016 fixture on a high with a resounding 6-0  win over St Catherine High, it was too late to clinch a semi-final spot. Alex Marshall led the way for the ‘Light Blues’ with a brace.

The Manning Cup semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday, November 19 at the National Stadium.
