Injured Gabby Thomas increases Jamaica's medal hopes in women's 200m at World Champs

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Kayon Raynor

With 10 days to go before the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, Jamaica's chances of winning medals in the women's 200 metres and sprint relay have improved slightly with news that America's Olympic champion Gabby Thomas has withdrawn due to an achilles injury.

This comes even as members of Jamaica's 60-member team continue to arrive in Tottori for the pre-championship camp.
