Jamaican teams advance to crossover round of Pan Am Hockey 5s

Bouyed by outstanding goalkeeping by captain Ajani Burton, Jamaica's men beat Puerto Rico 3-2 in their final pool game at the Pan American Hockey 5s tournament at the Mona Astro Turf on Tuesday.

Gian-Paul Haughton, Nickoy Stephenson and Shemar Gordon got the goals for the Jamaicans.

It was their second win of the tournament after beating panama 3-1 on Monday and going down 4-2 to USA on the opening day of the competition.

The nation's women didn't fare as well however, as they were beaten 10-1 by Uruguay with Imauny Linton getting Jamaica's only goal.

The Jamaicans had drawn 2-2 with Brazil and lost 2-1 to Trinidad and Tobago in their previous two matches.
The women will play the United States in their crossover match on Thursday, while the men will play Guatemala in their crossover match on Friday.
