James-King and Watkin set to make their Diamond League debuts

National champions Malik James-Jing and Deandre Watkin are in line to make their Diamond League debuts after being confirmed for the Monaco meeting on July 12.

James-King produced one of the surprises of last week's National Senior Athletics Championships when he ran a personal best 47.42 seconds to win the men's 400m hurdles at the National Stadium.

The time ranks him as the second fastest Jamaican all-time in the event and also secured him a place to the Olympic Games in Paris.

He will compete at the Monaco meet against a stellar field which includes world record holder Karsten Warholm and 2022 world champion Allison dos Santos.

Meanwhile, first time national champion Deandre Watkin fresh from his personal best 44.48 seconds has been confirmed for the men's 400m.

Watkin will compete against a star studied line-up including three Americans in the form of Quincy Hall, Michael Norman and Vernon Norwood.

Olympic champion Hansel Parchment and world champion Grant Halloway are also due to clash in the men's 110m hurdles. Shanieka Ricketts is the other Jamaican confirmed for the meet.
