Jamaican middle distance standard bearer Kemoy Campbell produced his fastest ever performance over 5000 metres for a 7th place finish at an indoor meet in Boston on Sunday.
Campbell's time of 13:14.45 seconds is over 30 seconds faster than his previous national indoor record of 13:44.96 set in 2015.
The performance is also remarkably faster by almost six seconds than his outdoor national record of 13:20.39. It also qualifies the 26 year old for this summer's IAAF World Championships in London. Mo Ahmed set a Canadian record 13:04.60 seconds to win Sunday's race.
