Matthew Lee and Katherine Wynter won the King's and Queen's singles title at the tournament staged at the Constant Spring Badminton Hall recently. Lee, a medical student at UWI beat Joel Angus in straight sets 21-14, 21-17 in just 37 minutes.
Lee who went through the championship without dropping a set, was using the tournament as preparation for the Jamaica International which takes place next month. Former national champion Wynter was winning back to back singles titles after beating ISSA schoolgirls champion Alia Walker 21-10, 21-5 in 42 minutes. The Jamaica International Badminton Tournament runs from March 4-8 inside the National Indoor Sports Centre.
