Legacy Isle gains automatic qualification for Mouttet Mile

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Spencer Darlington

Last year's runner-up Legacy Isle has secured automatic qualification for this year's 4th running of the ultra-rich Mouttet Mile at Caymanas Park.

The 5 year old American-bred bay horse produced a well-timed run to capture Saturday's 53rd running of the Philip Feanny OD  Gold Cup, a Graded Stakes and Open Allowance contest over 7 furlongs which carried automatic qualification for the December 6 event.

He was brilliantly ridden to victory by champion jockey Raddesh "Sneaky Fox" Roman for trainer Rohan Crichton. Legacy Isle covered the distance in 1:24.1 minute to win by a half a length.

Former champion jockey Dane Dawkins recorded a triple on the 9-race programme. Racing continues on Sunday with a 10-race card starting at 11:45 am.
