Mount Pleasant FA wins CONCACAF Caribbean Cup

Mount Pleasant Football Academy are the 2025 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup champions. This, after playing to an exciting 2-2 draw with Universidad O&M of the Dominican Republic inside the National Stadium on Tuesday.

Mt Pleasant won the two-way tie 3-2 on aggregate, after clipping O&M 1-0 in the first encounter on November 25.

It was O&M who took the lead in fifth minute of time added on for stoppages in the first half, through Frantzety Herard. Their job was made even more difficult, with a straight red card for Junior Mora, for a dangerous tackle on Kimoni Bailey.

The St Ann-based Mt Pleasant came firing on all cylinders in the second half. National striker Warner Brown scrambled home the equalizer on the night in minute 62.

O&M kept fighting, and scored the go ahead goal in the 69th minute, when Julen Martinez headed home from a free kick.

However, Mt Pleasant were not to be denied, as mercurial substitute, Tyreek Magee, fired home from just inside the 18 yard box with 87 minutes on the clock.

With the win, Mt Pleasant became the fourth Jamaican club to lift a regional title. They now join this after last year's winners Cavalier FC along with Harbour View FC and Portmore United. With the win, Mt Pleasant earned a bye to the round of 16 in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
