NACAC criticizes AIU over recent handling of Nasser's case

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Renardo Brown

The North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC), has criticized the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) over the handling of the whereabouts rule violation case involving 400m world champion Salwa Eid Naser.

The NACAC Athletes’ Commission has also called on World Athletics to intervene.

Naser was cleared of a whereabouts rule violation in October as a tribunal dismissed one of her missed tests after the Doping Control Officer (DCO) knocked on a storage unit door rather than her apartment amid confusion relating to her location.

The Nigerian-born Bahrainian athlete ran the third fastest time in history, 48.14 seconds to post a shock win over Miller-Uibo at the World Championships in Doha 12 months ago.
