New Kingston FC still awaiting compensation from King's transfer to St Mirren

A year after Reggae Boyz defender Richard King transfered from Cavalier FC to St Mirren in Scotland, one of the local clubs who was key in his development is yet to benefit financially.

Under the FIFA rule which deals with training compensation and solidarity contributions, any clubs that invest time and resources in training young players should be financially rewarded when those players turn professional or are later transferred for a fee. That's the fee New Kingston FC are seeking from King's transfer to Scottish Premier League outfit St Mirren.

However, a year after the transfer was done, there has been no compensation and it doesn't seem to be forthcoming.

When Radio Jamaica Sports checked with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), general secretary Gregory Daley said he was unaware of the issue but will do an investigation into the matter.
