The most improved trainer for 2025 Peter John Parsard stole the show on Saturday's 10-race card at Caymanas Park with a sparkling 4-timer including the winner of one section of the co-feature.
Dream Catcher and We Jammin captured the feature events, as native bred 3 year olds had two more prep races for the classic campaign.
The Jason DaCosta-trained Dream Catcher with title-chasing jockey Tevin Foster aboard, landed the fillies section, the 33rd running of the Thornbird Stakes over 7 furlongs in a 5-1 mild upset. The 3 year old bay filly covered the trip in 1 minute, 27.2 to win by two-and-a-half lengths.
Meanwhile, the 33rd running of the Prince Consort Stakes for colts and geldings also over 7 furlongs, saw the 3-2 favourite Salute The Don with 2022 champion jockey Dane Dawkins in the saddle disputing the lead with the 9-5 second choice We Jammin, the mount of 6-time former champion jockey Omar Walker.
We Jammin who was voted champion 2 year old for last year, took over with a furlong and a half to go and won going away impressively and underline his status as one of the favourites for the classics. The 3 year old bay colt closed out the 4-timer for Parsard.
2-time reigning champion jockey Raddesh Roman recorded a triple among his peers. Racing continues next Saturday.
