Combative West Indies Players Association chief Dinanath Ramnarine has resigned as head of the organization.
In a brief statement posted on the WIPA website the players union board of directors said the resignation came as no surprise, since the “long-serving and deeply committed Ramnarine has always advocated and sought to refresh and reinvigorate the organisation with new leadership.”
Ramnarine’s resignation takes effect on March 31.
Treasurer Wavell Hinds will now act as president until elections are held later this year.
Director Michael Hall will serve as interim chief executive officer.
