Reggae Boy Antonio out of hospital following vehicular crash

Reggae Boy and West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has been discharged from hospital, more than three weeks after sustaining a broken leg in a car accident.

The 34 year old Antonio had surgery on a lower limb fracture following the crash on December 7.

The Jamaican international needed to be cut from his car after becoming trapped during the incident in Epping, Essex, and was taken to a Central London hospital.

Antonio is west ham's all-time leading scorer in the Premier League, with 68 goals in 268 league appearances.

However, he's expected to miss the remainder of the season and could be out for the majority of 2025 as his recovery from leg surgery could take as long as 12 months.

It also means Antonio is likely to be ruled out of Jamaica's two remaining games in the second round of World Cup qualifying next June against the British Virgin Islands and Guatemala.

He will also miss the final round of World Cup qualifying set for September 2025, along with the home and away tie against St Vincent and the Grenadines in March for the qualifiers to the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Antonio has five goals in 21 appearances for the Reggae Boyz with his last appearance coming in a 0-0 result against Honduras in October at the National Stadium in the team's final CONCACAF Nations League "A" group encounter.
