Former national player Andrew Richardson has been appointed assistant coach for the Jamaica Scorpions.
Richardson who recently guided Melbourne Cricket Club to the final of the two day Senior Cup, is looking forward to his first regional coaching stint.
“It is always a challenge when it’s something new but it’s a good one. I’m looking specifically to work with the young fast bowlers we have here. There’s a lot of talent here and we are just looking to guide them in the right direction,” noted Richardson.
The 36 year old who last played for Jamaica in 2014, says he's hoping to impart his knowledge and experience in regional cricket to the current group of players.
“I’m still very much familiar with the regional teams in terms of their strengths and weaknesses and I think that was one of the reasons why I was offered this job,” said Richardson. Richardson claimed 192 wickets in his 68 first class matches at an average of 23.96.
