World Under-20 400m hurdles silver medallist Shiann Salmon, who made the semi-final stage at last month's IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar, has moved from GC Foster College to Texas, USA. RJR Sports onfirmed that the former hydel high school standout is now being coached by American 1996 Olympic bronze medallist Tonja Buford-Bailey.
The 20-year-old Salmon, who improved her personal best from 55.78 in 2018 to 55.16 seconds this summer under the guidance of GC Foster College and Sprint Tech head coach Maurice Wilson, while attending GC Foster College for one year, is now enrolled at Austin Community College in Texas.
Cubie Seegobin,who currently manages former world champions Yohan Blake and Danielle Williams, confirmed on Thursday that he has been asked to manage Salmon, who is expected to turn professional in January 2020. Seegobin told RJR Sports that the former Hydel High School star is yet to sign a professional contract. Salmon could not be reached for comment.
