Cricket West Indies president Dr Kishore shallow has defended the decision to allow the team’s white ball coach Darren Sammy to ply his trade simultaneously at the international and domestic levels.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) bowled off on Saturday for its 8th edition with Sammy as head coach for the Peshwar Zalmi who are the 2017 winners and three time runners-up.
Dr Shallow has also pushed back at the narrative that there was nepotism and insularity involved in the recruitment of Sammy as head coach and Miles Bascombe as the Director of Cricket.
Both men are from the Windward Islands, similar to Dr Shallow who hails from St Vincent and the Grenadines.
