Odean Skeen created history at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore on Saturday when he captured the boys 100 meters to win Jamaica's first gold medal at the games.
Fifteen-year-old Skeen, who attends Wolmers Boys’ School, clocked a personal best 10.42 seconds to win the gold.
However there was no luck for Jamaica in the other four medal events.
Olivia James was sixth in the girls' 400 metre "A" final in 54.14 seconds behind winner Robin Reynolds of the US in a season's best 52.57 seconds.
Stefan Fennell missed the bronze medal by one-hundredth of a second, returning a personal best 13.54 seconds for fourth in the boys'110 metre hurdles "A" final, won by Australia's Nicholas Hough in a personal best 13.37 seconds.
Janieve Russell finished seventh in the girls long jump "A" final with a leap of 5.83 metres behind German winner Lena Malkus 6.40 metres, while Megan Simmonds improved her personal best to 13.62 seconds in the girls' 100 metre hurdles "A" final for fourth place behind Russia's Katrina Bleskina 13.34 seconds.
In the consolation finals, Jamaica's Sasha Gay Marston threw 40.36 metres for second in the girls' discus "B" final, Frederic Dacres threw a personal best 54.79 meters for second behind winner Janos Kaplar of Hungary in the boys' discus "B" final.
Shericka Jackson can increase Jamaica's medal tally on Sunday as she competes in the women's 200 metre final.
