Just over 2 years since he was involved in a tragic motor vehicle crash which claimed the life of his teammate, sprinter Michael Campbell says he is still cautiously optimistic of returning to his best. Campbell ran at the Milo Western Relays at the GC Foster College on Saturday, running 7.11 seconds in the 60 metres.
Campbell who had a breakout season two years ago, made the nation's sprint relay team to the London World Championships at just 20 years old and had run a personal best of 10.07 seconds for 100 metres. Campbell is now just focused on getting back to being 100 percent race fit.
With the Olympic Games on the horizon, 23-year old Campbell admits that making the team this year may be little more than a pipe dream.
