Stacey Ann Williams will be the first Jamaican action on Friday morning when the World Athletics Indoor Championships gets underway in Glasgow, Scotland. Williams will line up in Heat 2 of the women’s 400 metres at 5:28 am Jamaica time.
Charokee Young follows Williams in the fourth heat at 5:44. Rusheen McDonald is the country's only representative in the men's equivalent and takes the track at 6:00 am.
Danniel Thomas Dodd will start the country's medal hunt at 6:06 am as she is one of 17 competitors for the women’s shot put final.
Natoya Goule Toppin takes the track at 6:30 for the first of four 800 metre heats.
Ackeem Blake, the third fastest man in the world over 60 metres at 6.45 seconds, will close out Jamaica's participation in the opening session at 7:46.
