Two local coaches agree with proposed format change for long jump

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Jeremain Brown

Local coaches David Riley and Kerry-Lee Ricketts are in agreement with World Athletics plan to trial a new format in the long jump this year.

The move by World Athletics is aimed at reducing the number of fouls in competition.

The new format would see all jumps legalized once they take off from a new "jump zone". The distance would then be measured from wherever that take-off occurred.
