Jamaica's Wavell Hinds is among
the eight West Indians, picked for the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction
later this month.
Former test captain Ramnaresh Sarwan, Kemar Roach, Sulieman Benn and Kieron Pollard, Lendl Simmons, Daren Ganga and Darren Bravo made the cut on Wednesday for the IPL auction on January 19.
Carlton Baugh and Tino Best who had submitted registrations for the third IPL auction, were not among the final 51 players elected for the eight IPL franchises for the auction.
West Indies captain Chris Gayle, Fidel Edwards, Dwayne Bravo, Dwayne Smith and Shivnarine Chandrpaul are all expected to compete in the 2010 championship, having already secured contracts.
Currently, Gayle, Bravo and Smith are playing in the Twenty/20 Big Bash while Edwards is injured.
For the 2010 tournament from March 12 to April 25, IPL organisers will negotiate with players directly.
