Chasing 183 for victory, England were led by an unbeaten century from Phil Salt as they cantered to 183-2 in just16.5 overs.
Salt blasted an unbeaten 103 off 54 balls with 9 fours and 6 sixes. Jacob Bethell supported with 58 not out off 36 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes. The pair shared in an unbeaten 107 run third wicket partnership.
Earlier, the Windies recovered from a precarious 18-3 to post 182-9 after being sent to bat. Nicholas Pooran top scored with 38, while Romario Shepherd made 35, Gudakesh Motie 33 and Andre Russell 30.
Fast bowler Saqib Mahmood took 4-33 and spinner Adil Rashid 3-32 for England. The second T20 international, another day/night encounter takes place at the same venue on Sunday.
