Windies lose T20I series against South Africa

Middle order batsman Shimron Hetmyer says the West Indies could have done better with the bat, as they suffered a series defeat after losing the second T20 International against South Africa by 7 wickets at Centurion on Thursday.

Hetmyer top scored with 75 from 42 balls, while Sherfane Rutherford added 57 from 24, as the Windies posted 221-4 off 20 overs after being sent in to bat.

Keshav Maharaj was the pick of the South African bowlers, taking 2-22, while there was one wicket apiece for Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen.

Quinton de Kock 115 and Ryan Rickleton 77, shared in a 162 run second wicket partnership to push the "Proteas" to 225-3, winning with 15 balls to spare.

Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein was the best West Indies bowler with 2-41. South Africa hold an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series with the third and final match set for Saturday morning Jamaica time in Johannesburg.
