Zulu Warrior wins feature event as live racing resumes at Caymanas Park

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Spencer Darlington

The 3-1 chance Zulu Warrior under apprentice Tyrese Anderson, captured Saturday's URTAJ Trophy event over 6 furlongs, as live racing resumed at Caymanas Park after a three week break, following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

The 4 year old chestnut colt actually went from gate to wire in the restricted overnight allowance contest. Zulu Warrior covered the distance in a minute, fourteen-and-three-fifths of a second to win by 2-and-a-half lengths.

The win by Zulu Warrior closed a double for trainer Adrian Prince who had captured the penultimate event with Shooting Star under champion jockey Raddesh Roman.

Trainer Ryan Darby also had a double on the programme. Racing continues on Sunday with a 10-race card featuring the Jamaica Cup and the Port Royal Sprint, where the winners will gain automatic entry into next month's US $300,000 Mouttet Mile.
