Teejay returns to social media, announcing his deal with Warner Music

Dancehall star Teejay, whose real name is Timoy Jones, has made a triumphant return to social media after a temporary ban imposed by his management. Teejay used his return to announce that he has inked a deal with Warner Music, a prominent American recording imprint.

In the post, Teejay says the deal is in relation to his hit single "Drift," released in April.

Meanwhile, Guy Moot, Co-Chair and CEO of Warner Chappell Music, says he is happy to see dancehall music and another Jamaican artiste in this context and on the global rise.

Moot has been influential with Jamaicans over two decades, having worked with Steely and Clevie, Stefflon Don and Stephen 'Di Genius' McGregor.

Solid Agency boss Sharon Burke says there were a myriad of offers on the table for Teejay, but indicated that the team felt at home with Warner.
