The University of California, Berkeley, is to offer a course on Trinidadian-born rapper Nicki Minaj for its 2023 spring semester.
The course, titled "Nicki Minaj: The Black Barbie Femmcee & Hip Hop Feminisms," will tackle her impact on the hip-hop industry and how it connects to the broader historical-social structures and hip-hop feminisms.
The 90-minute class will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will last for a full semester.
In response to the news, Nicki tweeted that she would love to participate.
The rapper, born Onika Tanya Maraj, joins fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, who will be the focus of a course being offered at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada for the winter 2023 semester.
