Barbados anticipates surge in tourism during ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup finals

Barbados is expecting a huge number of visitors to the island for the finals of the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup set to bowl off on Saturday.

Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Ambassador Noel Lynch, says that as of June 23, there were 36,000 visitors on the island.

He revealed that by the end of the cricket tournament, there is an expectation there will be some 40,000 people in Barbados.

The LOC Chair was speaking to CBC News on the readiness of Barbados to host the World Cup.

Ambassador Lynch says with these high numbers, there will be twice as many US visitors on the island in one month compared to UK visitors.
