BoJ celebrating its 50th anniversary

The Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this week.

It began operations in May 1961, terminating the Currency Board System which had been in existence from 1939.

Several events have been planned for the week, including Monday's launch of the bank's most recent publication, ‘Beads to Brass: History of Jamaican Currency.”

On Thursday, the BoJ will hold its Gala Dinner at which the Finance Minister will be the guest speaker.
