The Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of Jamaica is upset at what it says are persistent delays at the Trade Board for the processing of permit applications.

It said in some cases, it is taking over a month to process an application despite the normal turnaround time being three days.

The association said the situation is unacceptable, as it is crippling the transactional operations of its members on behalf of their customers.

Mitzie Gordon Burke-Green, President of the association, said requests to the Trade Administrator to meet and discuss the problem have gone unanswered.
