Ground has been broken for a multi-storey residential development in Montego Bay, St. James.

The development, dubbed 'The Pinnacle', will have four towers, each with 28 storeys.

The development, expected to be completed in 36 months, will have 423 residences, available in one, two, three-bedroom apartments, along with four and five-bedroom penthouses.

There will also be 15 private villas.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony on the weekend, Prime Minister Andrew Holness said the development will add a new dimension to the local tourism product.

The project is being executed by LCH Developments. Its CEO, Yansen Li, said the level of interest from both local and foreign buyers has been "truly overwhelming".

"The anticipation and support for Pinnacle continue to grow," he said, adding that LCH Developments' core team at Pinnacle is all local-based.
