The Trinidad's Express newspaper is reporting that the NCB Financial Group in January, awarded a contract for the provision of health insurance services to its employees to Sagicor Life Jamaica, after the contract with its subsidiary, Guardian Holdings, came to an end.
This move is noteworthy because Guardian Holding is also a direct competitor of Sagicor.
Both Sagicor Life Jamaica and Guardian provide group health insurance in Jamaica.
The newspaper quoted an official of NCB as saying health benefits in place for the employees will remain unchanged, however there was reduction in the premium rates effective February 1.
NCB Financial Group's health insurance plan covers all the employees of its wholly owned subsidiaries.
