Despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jamaica has achieved another record in tourist arrivals.
Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett says, for the current quarter under review, tourist arrivals have increased by 5,000 per cent, while earnings increased by 3,900 per cent.
Mr. Bartlett says the ministry's projection is that at the end of the financial year, the sector will record approximately 1.8 million tourist arrivals, which would be five to 600,000 more than 2020.
Revenue is expected to increase by some 59 per cent over the last financial year.
