Dr. Claire Grant, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Broadcast and Content Services for the RJRGLEANER Communications Group

Television Jamaica's NextGen TV test signal is now accessible to more than half of the Jamaican population with the installation of seven additional new transmitter sites across the island in June 2024.

The new NextGen TV sites are in in St. Andrew, Manchester, Westmoreland, Portland, St. Mary, St. James and St. Thomas.

These seven sites join with the Lyndhurst road transmitter to improve the new digital television signal reach to 66 per cent of the population, touching all 14 parishes across the island.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Broadcast and Content Services for the RJRGLEANER Communications Group, Dr. Claire Grant, says the station is moving at pace with tests, especially for the Olympics.

TVJ, which was third in the world to turn on the NextGenTV signal ATSC 3.0, responded to the government's mandate in 2021 to start the country's broadcast transmission transition from analogue to digital.
