Jamaica's murder tally since the start of the year has increased to 390.
It was at 371 during the same period last year.
Ten of the 19 police divisions have seen a spike in murders and shootings.
They include the St. Andrew South Division which had 53 cases and St. James 47.
Area One Headquarters, which covers the Corporate Area, has recorded 151 murders since January 1.
