Alleged gang leader killed by police in St. Andrew

Spanish Town based alleged gang leader Rudolph Shaw, popularly known as Baxter, was fatally shot during a police operation in St Andrew Saturday afternoon.
 
Shaw was killed just days after he mysteriously escaped from the Kingston Central Police lock up.
 
Radio Jamaica News was informed that, about three o'clock, members of  CTOC's special squad raided a guest house off Molynes Road, where the accused gang leader was hiding.
 
During the operation he was fatally shot and two firearms were reportedly seized.
 
Another man, who was with Shaw, was also killed. 
 
A woman who was in their company is now in police custody. 
 
Shaw was captured in the Cayman Islands in July after he fled Jamaica.
 
He was subsequently charged with two counts of murder, shooting and illegal possession.
 
Radio Jamaica News was informed that he was the prime suspect in the shooting death of the mother of a policeman in Spanish Town more than two years ago.
