US President Joe Biden is making a surprise appearance at the White House daily briefing - for the first time during his presidency.
He says he's confident the November 5 presidential election will be fair, but expressed uncertainty about it being peaceful.
Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are campaigning in battleground states, with Ms. Harris in Michigan, while Mr. Trump is heading to Georgia, where he's expected to talk about the impact of Storm Helene.
Ms. Harris has been ahead of Mr. Trump in national surveys since she entered the race, but only by a few percentage points.
The race is even tighter in key swing states.
