Staff and students at Bishop Gibson High School in Manchester have been left shaken by the murder of teacher Carolyn Davis Campbell, who was employed to the school.
Mrs Davis Campbell was fatally shot about 1 o'clock Wednesday morning by gunmen who invaded her house in Melrose Mews, in the parish.
Donna Legister Hendricks, Principal of Bishop Gibson High, told RJR News that teachers are disbelief at the death of their colleague.
"For many of my staff members, they are saddened, they are distraught by this fatal news of our dear colleague, Carolyn Davis-Campbell. Many are angry as to the senseless killing of a committed, hardworking colleague. Today is a dark day here at Bishop Gibson High School," she bemoaned.
Mrs Legister Hendricks said counselling was provided to students and staff at the school by the ministry as well as the Anglican Church.
Superintendent Wayne Cameron, head of the Manchester Police, said Mrs Davis Campbell's husband, who was at home during the shooting, was not harmed.
