CBP makes multi-million dollar drug bust in Eastern Caribbean

The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency says it made a multi-million dollar drug bust last week after it seized more than two thousand kilogrammes of cocaine in the waters of the Eastern Caribbean.

The CPB says the cocaine is valued at approximately $73 million, or US$892,000.

The nine-member crew of a vessel that had been under surveillance evaded law enforcement and threw the cocaine overboard.

Eighty-four bales of cocaine with a weight of 2,548 kilogrammes were recovered.
