Colombian arrested in Jamaica now subject of INTERPOL 'Red Notice'

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has confirmed that an individual alleging to be a Colombian national has been arrested in Jamaica on immigration breaches.

He is now the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice.

A Red Notice is issued for fugitives wanted either for prosecution or to serve a sentence. It is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender or similar legal action.

The JCF said it is working with its international partners in line with established treaties and protocols, and will provide more information at an appropriate time.

The man is believed to be the key suspect in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse.
