Constable Noel Maitland remains in custody without being charged nearly a week after he was arrested in connection with the disappearance of his girlfriend, Donna-Lee Donaldson.
The policeman was questioned by detectives on Saturday but this was unrelated to the disappearance of the young woman.
His attorney Christopher Townsend told Radio Jamaica News that the session was about Constable Maitland obstructing the police.
Mr. Townsend said another attempt will likely be made this week to get the policeman released.
Shortly after Constable Maitland was arrested on Wednesday Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey said there was adequate evidence to link him to Miss Donaldson's disappearance.
It is expected that an update on the case will be provided today when the Jamaica Constabulary Force holds its monthly media briefing.
